About Lisa Galper

As the owner and solo practitioner of a private psychology office in Scottsdale, Arizona,
Lisa Galper helps individuals and couples with issues that range from post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder to relationship and general life management. Over the course of her professional career, she has garnered significant recognition for her work in the field of eating disorder treatment, counseling patients at both the Scottsdale Weight Loss Center and the Scottsdale Bariatric Center. Lisa Galper also served seven years as chief psychologist for the Balance Weight Management Program of Scottsdale Healthcare.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Galper provided outpatient assessment and therapy to adults and adolescents as a clinical psychologist with the Scottsdale treatment center A New Beginning. She held this position for eight years, addressing matters that include mood disorders, personality disorders, sexual abuse, and psychological trauma.

While working toward her doctor of psychology at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Galper provided counseling on a range of issues through several different healthcare sectors. She administered assessments and counseled patients with a variety of mood and personality disorders.

Her approaches to treatment include mindfulness and cognitive behavior therapy as well as dialectical behavioral therapy to control one’s emotions. With extensive experience in the area of weight management and eating disorders, Dr. Galper maintains membership in the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.
